On Way to Chamberlain Basin -- August 9-19, 2008
This turned out to be the most difficult day of the trip. Not only was it a long distance, but we ended up having to cross a nearly
10000 foot ridge. We had planned on camping mid-way, but the lack of water meant the only choice was to push on. Don't
care to repeat this one any time soon.

Oh, sure, starts out easy. Wait 'til we get you further up the trail!

Baker Lake again. Such as it is.

The cabin, and this mine, are obviously remanants of days gone by.

We came out at one point onto this beautiful, but dry, high meadow. Had there been some water available, I would have spent the night here.

We finally re-join the trail. It's whereabouts had been a mystery for quite a while.

Plod, plod, plod. This was one he-- of a grunt. Up to just short of 10000 feet.

Doesn't this bloody trail ever get to the top??

Surely we must be almost there!?!?!

Finally the top. Now we get to go back down for about two weeks!

Almost there. We were so tired that we collapsed at the first usable campsite.
