Moon Lake
Not its actual name, but the real name was boring... i.e., it didn't have one!
This lake was one of three in this general area that looked for all the world like it was being irrigated from. Since that is obviously
not true, what caused the excess of shoreline? And what is happening to the water? A clue to this mystery is that the outlet to this lake
was high and dry. Had not seen water for a long time. However, 300 feet down the outlet drainage, there was a fast-flowing stream. So where
cometh the water? Out the bottom of the lake I am going to presume.

After a long day of hiking, from the brush emerges this jewel of a campspot

In this area were a couple of spring-fed creeks th at just emerged from the hillside

From under this rock emerged the stream that is in the photo to the left. Where did it come from? The suspicion is that it originated from a small lake further up. However water running through the granite boulders and emerging at will is common.

The turquoise color, and clarity, of this lake was awe-inspiring

In the morning, with the sun shining down on the lake, most all of it was visible
