The Last leg of this approximately 39 mile journey

I spent a lot of time grousing about the trail, or lack thereof. We struggled with blowdown situations like this for the entire trip. It made the last 3 miles or so absolutely wonderful as they were maintained. The rest of the 39 miles was like this. Ugh!

I just know there's a trail here somewhere... isn't there?

And my question to my hiking partner was, "how many 'ant trips' does it take to made this approximately 12 inch high pile of sawdust?" Must be a mansion inside.

Another ant mansion...

More trail debris, much of which had not just fallen this year

I am always fascinated by the rocks that trees drag up when they fall over. This particular rock was about 3 feet through. Some guys just don't know when to let go! ;-)
