Seven Devils Wilderness Area!
I had wanted to hike this area for a long time. It came to fruition this August. Sadly,
I have to say that in many respects it was a major disappointment. I had not previously
known that the lion's share of the Seven Devils area was burned, leaving only small patches of trees
here and there. And creating large zones of virtually impassable forest(?). On top of that, after hiking Idaho's
White Cloud mountains, and Oregon's Eagle Cap wilderness, the Seven Devils were a major letdown. Many of
the lakes on a 1-10 scale were 7-9s, but many also were 2s. I have no intention to return to this area.
