Eagle Cap, Day 1!

A lovely meadow and camping area in the distant part of this picture.

A river runs through it. In this case, the east fork of the Lostine River.

Unnamed falls on east fork Lostine River

Not sure where this little gem was... along the trail somewhere.

Coffee Bean peruses the east fork. I presume it met with his approval. However, since he didn't take a drink, who knows?

I'm sorry, were you talking to me?

Another gem on the east fork.

This trail goes up for a ways, then ascends like mad up a series of switchbacks, then emerges in a very beautiful meadow that goes for several miles towards Mirror Lake & the others in the Eagle Cap Lakes basin. This is where we enter the meadow, and the river flattens out.

Very close to where we will camp on the way out in a few days.

The first of many views of the Eagle Cap. You can see it the entire length of this valley.

A last look before we shut down for the night.
