Eagle Cap, Day 4!

An early morning shot from our Moccasin Lake campspot.

Mocha and Coffee Bean are definitely ready for grazing. What they are NOT ready for is this weight you see in the foreground. As the Man in Black, from the movie, The Princess Bride said, "Get used to disappointment."

Dog is 'chillin'.

This again, eh? Wonderful.

Curtis is hard at work, getting the boys ready for work.

Dog is overseeing the operation... "Hey, wait a minute... that's not the way to do that!"

The mountains greet us as we begin our slog to the top of Glacier Pass.

Leaving the campspot granite shelf behind.

Mocha & Coffee Bean, slogging up the trail.

Mocha & Coffee Bean weren't the only ones slogging the trail.

Curtis' boys... "Do we really gotta do this??? Do we??"

What was notable about this trip, is that there were many snowbanks in places where I had never seen them before. Last winter's snowfall was massive in OR as well as ID.

Coffee Bean & Mocha again. Everyone thinks that their boys are the only real great packgoats, but they, of course, are wrong. Mine are the only real great packgoats. And if you don't believe that, you must just need a reality check! :-)))

Slogging on... this is a 2mi, 1000' vertical. It is NO piece of cake.

Snowbanks and snowbanks, sometimes over the trail.

And sometimes the trail is obliterated. As in these two examples.

That's Mirror Lake in the distance. We're still a long ways from the top, however.

Another old soldier that is still standing guard, but destined to eventually succumb to the ravages of time and weather.

We're getting closer, but we're not yet to the top.

On the other hand, Coffee Bean and Mocha are asking, "Are we there yet?"

Aha! There it is! Glacier Lake, the focal point for every hiker in the Eagle Cap.

Our campsite.

Coffee Bean and Mocha critiquing the setup. They suggested a hay container.
