Day2
This
day was a long slog up a drainage on a trail that was, 1) in a burn area; & 2) unmaintained for a very long time; 3) HOT!

Climbing up the drainage in what would be a 2600' climb. Ugh!

The sun came and went this day, but the cloudy periods were more than welcome in this area with precious few trees due to the past burn.

We are heading up this drainage to the cut on the left of the picture

George decided to take the road less traveled. The actual crossing was done at a point that is up and out of the picture. He didn't take kindly to that particular route and went off on his own. ;-)

This was actually a spring that sprouted out of the dry ground just on the other side of the trail

Almost there...

The lower lakeof two that were closely joined. No altitude on the Topo, but about 8261'

The lake that was to be tonight's RON. Altitude on the Topo is 8271'

I'm sitting out in my chair, watching the bats flitting around, clearing the air of mosquitoes, among other things.
