Baker Lake
Baker Lake is a solitary lake in the Smoky Mountains of Idaho. The Smokies are at the south end of the Sawtooth-White Clouds area.
I had come from Boise Sunday late PM, overnighted near the Norton Lakes TH, and after doing the Norton Lakes Loop, moved over to the Baker TH and did an in-and-out here.
This trail is completely in a burn area
(very little of Idaho ISN'T in a burn area), and therefore you are in the sun 100% of the time, and this is a fairly daunting hike as well.
And as should be obvious, I had the goats with me, and since this is a fairly well-traveled trail, I was stopping and talking on a pretty regular basis. Most folks are interested in the goats,
to the detriment of my forward progress. :-)
