The High Ridge, looks over the entire San Francisco Valley
This was a hike led by Jeff Ross, of Glenwood, NM, and took us up to an impossibly high ridge that looked over the entire San Francisco Valley, Glenwood,
Mineral Creek and the high plateau where sits the Glenwood airport. Not an airport as most folks would picture it, but Glenwood's airport nonetheless.
This mountain probably has a name, but not one known to me |

A little more focused, this one looks down on Mineral Creek, probably at least 800' below |
Watch where you put your ankles. This barrel cactus bites! |
A look at a Yucca look-alike, and the high mountains behind |

Glorious leader, Moose the Goat, and Senior Citizen Jessie the Dog |
|
Moose is a bit of a wonder in the goat world. He is around 14 years old, and he has outlived both his other companions, Apache & Pinto |
Mooses lower jaw has protruded a litte as he has aged, but that isn't unusual in the goat world |
Water certainly does its own thing. Here it peeks out from under this rock, runs down the face of another rock, and disappears once again into the soil |
Even a crack in the rock can be home if you are a barrel cactus |
