January 14 - Another 6 inches and Clean Up
Too much of a good thing is what?

Time to get busy. A lot of work here before it is all off the deck

Early on the elk began to move in from the valley. They remained all day until after dark

This particular bush is a willow look-alike. They seemed to be particularly fond of this one.

This lady wanted to come up on the side facing the deck but couldn't quite work up the courage.

At this point they are working their way up the furthest of the two drainages

This lady was definitely suspicious of my intentions. I told her I was a 'friendly'.

Our resident 'Herm' She/he has been with the ladies for a lot of years. The fact that he has been allowed to remain with the ladies is a clear indication that he/she is no reproductive threat. Otherwise durign the rut, the males probably would have 'done him in'.

We seem to have 'wrapped it up' at this point... many droplets of sweat later.

The 'curl' that the roof's snow is making this year is unique. Always before it has been warmer, and flowed off the roof much faster. This year it is been too cold to melt quickly so the flow off the roof has been very slow... and dangerous.
