The long pipe that you see hugging the side of the canyon, and the pipe bridge supports, date from a much earlier era, when the water for Alamogordo came from far up the canyon

End of the line. It could have been gotten around, but considering our current fatigue level, and the distance to go back, it made a good turning around point
